For yard owners and livery clients alike, we know that keeping horses fit and/or rehabilitating horses post injury is time consuming – and for many of us, riding horses isn’t our only day job. Whilst the investment in a horse walker may seem daunting, the benefits far outweigh the negatives. We chatted to Jeanne Korber, of Equine Walker, about the functionality of equine walkers and the benefits for horses and riders alike:
“There are numerous benefits of using a horse walker in a yard. Several horses can be exercised simultaneously at a controlled pace for optimum performance and efficiency. Regular daily exercise is essential for competition horses to ensure no injuries and also the general wellbeing of horses. When rehabilitating a horse after injury it is very important to follow a controlled exercise routine – this process can be very time consuming and boring for riders, which the Equine Walker eliminates.”
